Brolly Sheets is proud to promote the Giant Sleepover to help raise money for ERIC - our favourite UK children’s charity.
ERIC is the only child continence charity in the UK and they share our vision of a good night’s sleep for all.
The Giant Sleepover will be held on
19 June 2010 and is attempting to beat the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest sleepover held over 24 hours. Tens of thousands of children are signing up to help raise money for ERIC and other children’s charities. Events are planned to take place across the UK and the globe and children will get the chance to take part in a number of activities including sports, cookery, crafts and story-telling! They may also share a midnight feast, join a treasure hunt and link up around the world for simultaneous record breaking activities.
This year several sleepovers will be taking place in unique and unusual venues; kids will be imitating Tarzan in a monkey forest, going back in time in a museum and York Dungeons and finding out if fish sleep having their big snooze in Sea Life centres across the country. To make the world record the children, aged between 5 and 16, must have their lights out for at least seven hours and not sleep in their own beds!
Sandie Dinning, one of the founders of the
Giant Sleepover said, “
For this one night children will join a global community of kids, get the chance to sleep out, meet new friends, learn new skills and raise awareness and money for charity. Since it started the Giant Sleepover has raised more than £500,000 for charity. We hope this year’s event will be bigger and better and we urge all ‘kids that care’ to take part.”
